When I first heard about the Russian space dog 'Laika', a kind of profound feeling of sadness took hold of me for a few days. On one hand, I think it's incredible that we were able to take a neglected dog off of the streets, and make her into one of the first cosmic travelers coming out of Earth. On the other hand, we cooked a dog alive in space for the sake of beating our own people in a race to get off of a rock.
Regardless, this track was meant to be a letter to the Russian space dog.
Thanks for your journey, Laika. Your sacrifice certainly was not in vain.
